Councilman Pomares stated that the Morris Canal Greenway Committee would be holding its second annual Haunted Trail event. He went to also state that a 3 mile "Healthy Walk" would take place on October 28, 2017 along the Canal in conjunction with the Township's Health and Recreation Departments. Also related to the Morris Canal Greenway Committee, Councilman Pomares informed the Council that a three mile hike would take place on November 4th along the Canal led by Richard Rockwell, and he also stated that an RFP would be issued for the installation of wayfinder signs and kiosks along the canal. He stated that a $20,000 2016 Trails Grant from Disney was available to fund the signs.

Councilwoman Davis provided an update to the Council of recent Board of Health meeting she had attended which included a partnership with Clara Maass Hospital to strengthen the Township's social clinical services, that the Board was working on procuring a Healthy Community Grant and also revising the Township's noise ordinance.

Councilman Joanow reported that the recent shredding event sponsored by the Recycling Committee had shredded over 14,000 pounds of paper, and that an electronics recycling event would be held on October 28, 2017 at the Brookdale Shop Rite.

Mayor Venezia asked for a motion to go into Closed Session, which was moved by Councilman Bernard, seconded by Councilwoman Mundell, and agreed to by all of the Councilmembers present. The Council moved into Closed Session at 8:15 p.m.
